            feine, graue Flöckchen anſetzen, als ob es einen Bart bekäme.

            <s xml:id="echoid-s4064" xml:space="preserve">Die Flöckchen vergrößern ſich bald und werden zweigartig, als

            ob ſich in der Flüſſigkeit eine Art Trauerweide bildete. </s>

            man den Prozeß ganz ungeſtört, ſo wird der Anblick unge-
              <lb/>
            mein intereſſant. </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4066" xml:space="preserve">Bei guten, ſauberen Flüſſigkeiten nehmen die
              <lb/>
            Flöckchen das Anſehen von Silberblättchen an, welche an dem
              <lb/>
            Zinkſtreifen wachſen.</s>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s4068" xml:space="preserve">Was aber iſt hier vorgegangen?</s>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s4070" xml:space="preserve">In der Höllenſtein-Löſung war eine chemiſche Verbindung
              <lb/>
            von Silber und Salpeterſäure. </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4071" xml:space="preserve">Nun aber hat die Salpeter-
              <lb/>
            ſäure eine viel größere Neigung, ſich mit Zink zu verbinden,
              <lb/>
            als mit Silber. </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4072" xml:space="preserve">Nachdem man nun den Zinkſtreifen in die
              <lb/>
            Flüſſigkeit hineingeſetzt hat, verließ die Salpeterſäure das Silber
              <lb/>
            und verband ſich mit dem Zink.</s>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s4074" xml:space="preserve">All dieſe kleinen Experimente ſind unterhaltend und für
              <lb/>
            den denkenden Anfänger auch ſehr lehrreich. </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4075" xml:space="preserve">Sie leiten zum
              <lb/>
            Verſtändnis vieler anderer chemiſcher Prozeſſe an, die für den
              <lb/>
            Anfänger nicht ſo leicht herzuſtellen ſind. </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4076" xml:space="preserve">Sie zeigen, wie ſich
              <lb/>
            im chemiſchen Prozeß die Stoffe verändern, wenn ſie neue Ver-
              <lb/>
            bindungen eingehen, und wie ſie oft einander aus beſtehender
              <lb/>
            Verbindung verdrängen und zu neuen Geſtaltungen gelangen,
              <lb/>
            die man ohne Vorkenntnis der Naturprozeſſe nur blind an-
              <lb/>
            ſtaunen kann, ohne ſie zu begreifen.</s>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s4078" xml:space="preserve">Wer an ſolchen kleinen Experimenten Vergnügen findet,

            dem wird es durch Beſchäftigung damit auch viel leichter

            werden, ſich in wiſſenſchaftlichen Werten weiter zurecht zu finden.</s>
