            zerſtörte äußerliche Bewegung in eine Inner-Bewegung im
              <lb/>
            Pendel, im Aufhängepunkt derſelben und in der umgebenden
              <lb/>
            Luft. </s>

            ſcheinbaren geſchieht, das geht auch in gewaltigen Erſcheinungen

            im großen, weiten Weltall vor ſich, und darum wollen wir uns

            denn auch in dieſe weiteſten Fernen hineinwagen und dort
              <lb/>
            nachſpüren, was unſere Denker von der Kraft, von der Be-
              <lb/>
            wegung und von der Wärme und von dem Weltleben im
              <lb/>
            großen und ganzen Merkwürdiges und Lehrreiches ausgeſonnen
              <lb/>
            haben.</s>

            nicht nur ſo manche Erſcheinung, z. </s>

            ſteine, ſondern es läßt ſich jetzt auch der Grad der Hitze ziem-

            lich genau angeben, in welche jedes Lot einer ſolchen Maſſe
              <lb/>
            geraten muß, wenn es durch Eintritt in die Erdatmoſphäre
              <lb/>
            eine beſtimmte Summe von Geſchwindigkeit einbüßt.</s>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s4121" xml:space="preserve">Im allgemeinen kann man annehmen, daß einige der

            kleinen Maſſen, welche unſere Sternſchnuppen, Leuchtkugeln

            und Meteore bilden, urſprünglich eine Geſchwindigkeit in ihrem
              <lb/>
            Umlauf um die Sonne beſitzen, die der Geſchwindigkeit der
              <lb/>
            Erde ſehr nahe kommt. </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4122" xml:space="preserve">Sie beträgt hiernach beinahe fünf
              <lb/>
            Meilen in der Sekunde.</s>
