This will perhaps make it ſeem ſtrange,
that having taken another Glaſs bubble
blown at the ſame time, and like for
ought we diſcern'd for ſize, thickneſs
and Figure to that thin one formerly
mention'd; and having ſeal'd it up Her
metically, and ſuſpended it in the Recei
ver, the exſuction of the ambient Air did
not enable the impriſoned Air to break, or
in the leaſt to crack the bubble; though
the Experiment were laboriouſly try'd,
and that ſeveral times with bubbles of o
ther ſizes: But that perhaps the heat of
the Candle or Lamp wherewith ſuch
Glaſſes are Hermetically ſeal'd, (not to
mention the warmth of his hands that
ſeal'd it) might ſo rarifie the contained
Air, as much to weaken its Spring, may
