Ratio huius effectus pendet nedùm ab
impulſu flammæ ſursùm, ſed etiam à rarefactione ae­
ris propè ignem exiſtentis, eumque ambientis per to­
tam camini longitudinem, quia nempe aer prædictus
ab igne calefactus minùs grauis ſpecie redditur, quam
aer cubiculi, & externus, qui à camino diſtat; Hoc
autem neceſſariò aduenit ex legibus mechanicis, &
ex Archimedis demonſtrationibus; neceſsè enim eſt,
vt aer rarior, & minùs grauitans ſursùm expellatur
exprimaturque à grauiore aere circumambiente, hinc
fit vt poſt aſcenſum illius aeris rarefacti per caminum
diminuatur moles aeris ipſius cubiculi propè, & cir­
ca caminum.
Non ergo mirum eſt, nouum aerem pro­
fluere ad replendum cubiculi ſpatium, & hæc eſt cau­
ſa, quare percipitur ventus ille, & effluuium per­
petuum dum flamma camini viget.
