Videmus hinc quantum hæc vis Magnetis
differat a gravitate, quæ eſt in ratione ſoliditatis corporum, ſive in
eorum Diametrorum ratione triplicata:
& ideo evidenter liquet, vim
Magnetis non poſſe pendere a lege Naturæ, quâ poſitis corporibus
duobus, ad ſe acceſſus fiet, quippe tum vis foret in ratione quan-
titatis corporeæ, hoc eſt utigravitas, cum ea nunc obſervatur in ra-
tione ſuperficiei corporeæ tantum exiſtere.
EXPERIMENTUM LXXX.
Æqualis vis bonorum Magnetum inermium, non ſenſibiliter inæ-
qualium vi, ſimilis figuræ &
poſitionis, ſed inæqualis magnitudi-
nis, eſt aliquando paulum major vel minor, quam in ratione ſuarum
Diametrorum.
Memorat Whiſtonus ſe hoc etiam ex variis didiciſſe Experimen-
tis;
attamen fatetur magnam eſſe difficultatem determinandi, an
diverſi Magnetes, aut diverſæ partes ejuſdem Magnetis ſint æque
bonæ, ut fere perveniri nequeat ad aliquem accuratum ſucceſſum
Experimenti.
