              aër maximè rarus, in cauſâ eſt, cur primùm

              tanto impetu irrumpat aqua, & poſtmodum

              paulatim aſcendat; quò enim magis à natu­

              rali ſtatu remouetur aër, ſicut vim vlterio­
                <lb/>
              rem inferenti contumaciùs reſiſtit, ita maio­
                <lb/>
              re impetu reſtituit ſeſe, & aquæ reſiſtentiam

              faciliùs vincit, cum maximè aqua ad mino­
                <lb/>
              rem altitudinem euehatur; at vbi aqua adhuc
                <lb/>
              altiùs eleuanda eſt, atque aër à minori rari­

              tate violentâ recedit, & hic ſegniùs ſeſe con­

              trahit, & illa validiùs reſiſtit, ac proinde len­
