curio BC grauatur, & ſic de facto experimur appli­
cata digiti pulpa ori infimo fiſtulæ; quod in partę
intermedia pulpæ à mercurio tacta nulla compreſſio,
nec contuſio neque grauitatio perſentitur, quando præ­
cisè mercurij altitudo BC eſt vnius cubiti, & qua­
drantis
ferè; quod ſieius altitudo ſupra CB augeatur,
tunc ſolummodò percipitur in medio pulpæ digiti ſub­
iecti compreſſio grauitans iuxtà menſuram exceſſus mer­
curij ſupra eum qui altitudinem vnius cubiti, & qua­
drantis occupat, & ſi è contrà mercurius deprima­
tur violentèr infra debitam altitudinem BC, tunc ne­
dùm ſubiecta pulpa digiti non comprimitur, ſed è
contrà exugitur, vt efficiunt cucurbitæ medicæ, &
hyrudines.
Sed dicet aduerſarius ſi mercurius BC
nil grauitat, nec comprimit digitum, quare requi­
ritur vis, aut libræ, aut digiti ſubiecti, quæ nedum̨
æquet pondus ſolias vitri AC, ſed prætereà ſuſtine­
re valeat duas libras v. g. quas pendit mercurius BC?
Reſpondeo aereum cylindrum SA fiſtulæ vitreæ in­
cumbentem ſua grauitate agere non minùs, quàm̨
collateralis cylindrus aereus SG, cumque vitrum̨
CA non repellatur æquali actione contraria ſursùm
ab aere collaterali SG, quia huius vis exercetur, &
omninò expletur ſuſtentando mercurium BC; igitur
neceſſariò vitrum CA comprimitur deorsùm à gra­
uitate aeris incumbentis SA, cuius pondus æqualę
