Nam quo anguſtius eſt ſpatium
per quod eadem Materiæ quan­
titas eodem revolutionis unius
tempore tranſit, eo majori cum
velocitate tranſire debet.
Igitur ſi Terra in hac Materia cœſe­
ſti relative quieſcens ab ea deferretur, & una circa Solem re­
volveretur, foret hujus velocitas in principio Piſcium ad ejuſdem
velocitatem in principio Virginis in ratione ſeſquialtera.
Unde
Solis motus diurnus apparens in principio Virginis major eſſet
quam minutorum primorum ſeptuaginta, & in principio Piſcium
minor quam minutorum quadraginta & octo: cum tamen (expe­
rientia teſte) apparens iſte Solis motus major ſit in principio Pi­
ſcium quam in principio Virginis, & propterea Terra velocior in
principio Virginis quam in principio Piſcium.
Itaque Hypotheſis
Vorticum cum Phænomenis Aſtronomicis omnino pugnat, & non
tam ad explicandos quam ad perturbandos motus cœleſtes, con­
ducit.
Quomodo vero motus iſti in ſpatiis liberis abſque Vorti­
cibus peraguntur intelligi poteſt ex Libro primo, & in Mundi
Syſtemate plenius docebitur.
