            ſieurs moyens pour le faire agreablement; </s>

            diminuer ou les renfler, voici les deux Pratiques que donne Vigno-

            le, que je raporterai preferablement à pluſieurs autres qui ſont à la

            avec la quantité dont on veut qu’elle diminue depuis le tiers juſ-

            qu’au haut, il faut d’écrire un demi-cercle ſur le diamêtre CD, en-
              <lb/>
            ſuite mener la parallele GE à l’Axe AB, enſorte qu’elle vienne ren-
              <lb/>
            contrer le demi-cercle au point E, afin d’avoir l’arc CE: </s>

              <lb/>
            ſera enſuite la ligne AM en un certain nombre de parties égales,
              <lb/>
            comme en 10 ou 12; </s>

            qu’en ſix, afin de rendre la figure moins confuſe: </s>

            même l’Arc CE en autant de parties égales que la ligne AM, & </s>

            chaque point de diviſion mener des paralleles à l’Axe: </s>

            auſſi par les points I d’autres paralleles au diamêtre CD, qui, venant

            rencontrer les précédentes, donneront les points K qui marqueront
              <lb/>
            de combien la Colomne doit diminuer. </s>

            nution, il faut prendre une grande Regle flexible, & </s>

            par tous les points que la courbe doit rencontrer.</s>

            DE, qui doit paſſer par le tiers de l’Axe AB comme ci-devant, il

            faut avec le Compas prendre le demi-diamêtre CE, (que je ſupoſe
              <lb/>
            égal à celui de la Colomne) & </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s10474" xml:space="preserve">le porter à l’extrémité G du diamê-
              <lb/>
            tre GH, enſorte que venant rencontrer l’Axe AB au point I, la
              <lb/>
            ligne GI ſoit égale au demi-diamêtre CE: </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s10475" xml:space="preserve">enſuite il faut prolonger
              <lb/>
            cette ligne auſſi-bien que le diamêtre DE, de maniere que l’un & </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s10476" xml:space="preserve">

            l’autre, venant ſerencontrer, donnent le point F, duquel il faut tirer
              <lb/>
            un nombre de lignes qui viendront couper l’Axe de la Colomne, </s>
