            nion, he omitted an anſwer to the Scripture-
              <lb/>
            Expreſſions: </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s2788" xml:space="preserve">therefore ’tis requiſite, That
              <lb/>
            in the proſecuting this Diſcourſe, we ſhould
              <lb/>
            lay down ſuch ſatisfaction, as may clear all
              <lb/>
            Doubts that may be taken thence: </s>

            ally ſince the prejudice that may ariſe from
              <lb/>
            the miſapprehenſion of thoſe Scripture-
              <lb/>
            Phraſes, may much diſable the Reader from

            looking on any other Argument, with an

            equal and indifferent mind.</s>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s2791" xml:space="preserve">The places that ſeem to oppoſe this, are
              <lb/>
            of two kinds. </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s2792" xml:space="preserve">Firſt, Such as imply a Mo-
              <lb/>
            tion in the Heavens: </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s2793" xml:space="preserve">Or, ſecondly, ſuch as
              <lb/>
            ſeem to expreſs a Reſt and Immobility in the
              <lb/>
            Earth.</s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s2794" xml:space="preserve"/>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s2795" xml:space="preserve">Thoſe of the firſt kind ſeem to bear in
              <lb/>
            them the cleareſt evidence, and therefore
              <lb/>
            are more inſiſted on by our Adverſaries.
              <lb/>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s2796" xml:space="preserve">They may be referred unto theſe three
              <lb/>
            Heads.</s>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s2799" xml:space="preserve">All thoſe Scriptures where there is any

            mention made of the Riſing or Setting of the
              <lb/>
            Sun or Stars.</s>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s2801" xml:space="preserve">2. </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s2802" xml:space="preserve">That Story in Joſhua, where the Sun

            @@anding ſtill, is reckoned for a Miracle.</s>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s2804" xml:space="preserve">3. </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s2805" xml:space="preserve">That other Wonder in the days of
              <lb/>
            Hezekiah, when the Sun went back ten de-
              <lb/>
            grees in the Dial of Ahaz, All which places
              <lb/>
            do ſeem to conclude, That the Diurnal Mo-
              <lb/>
            tion is cauſed by the Heavens.</s>
