            Prejudice the preſent Opinion, or common

            <s xml:id="echoid-s4775" xml:space="preserve">As the ſound of this Motion is not
              <lb/>
            more heard, than the Harmony of the Hea-
              <lb/>
            vens: </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4776" xml:space="preserve">ſo neither is there any reaſon vvhy
              <lb/>
            this Motion ſhould cauſe a ſound, more than
              <lb/>
            the ſuppoſed Motion of the Heavens, vvhich
              <lb/>
            is likevviſe thought to be continued unto the
              <lb/>
            Air hard by us.</s>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s4778" xml:space="preserve">Ad 4. </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4779" xml:space="preserve">This vvill prove the Earth to move
              <lb/>
            as vvell as the Heavens; </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4780" xml:space="preserve">For that has, firſt,
              <lb/>
            a round Figure, as is generally granted.

            <s xml:id="echoid-s4781" xml:space="preserve">Secondly, Being conſidered as vvhole, and
              <lb/>
            in its proper place, it is not heavy, as vvas
              <lb/>
            proved before: </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4782" xml:space="preserve">and as for the tvvo other
              <lb/>
            conditions, neither are they true of the
              <lb/>
            Heavens; </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4783" xml:space="preserve">nor if they vvere, vvould they
              <lb/>
            at all conduce to their Motion.</s>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s4785" xml:space="preserve">Ad 5. </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4786" xml:space="preserve">This Argument vvould prove
              <lb/>
            that the Sea did not ebb and flow, becauſe
              <lb/>
            there is not the ſame kind of motion in eve-
              <lb/>
            ry drop of Water: </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4787" xml:space="preserve">or that the whole Earth
              <lb/>
            is not ſpherical, becauſe every little piece of
              <lb/>
            it is not of the ſame Form.</s>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s4789" xml:space="preserve">Ad 6. </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4790" xml:space="preserve">This is rather an Illuſtration than
              <lb/>
            a Proof; </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4791" xml:space="preserve">or if it do prove any thing, it may
              <lb/>
            ſerve as well for that purpoſe unto which it
              <lb/>
            is afterward applied, where the motion of
              <lb/>
            every Planet is fuppoſed to depend upon the
              <lb/>
            revolution of the Sun.</s>

            <s xml:id="echoid-s4793" xml:space="preserve">Ad 7. </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4794" xml:space="preserve">That the Sun and Planets do work

            upon the Earth by their own real daily mo-
              <lb/>
            tion, is the thing in queſtion; </s>
            <s xml:id="echoid-s4795" xml:space="preserve">and there-
              <lb/>
            fore muſt not be taken for a common
              <lb/>
            Ground.</s>
