Nam quibuſdam aqua è puteis hauſta infunditur in alia, ut ſitulis: quæ­
dam aquarum plena machinis extrahuntur, ut moduli et bulgæ.

gnea, ſicuti ſitulæ & moduli: alia ſcortea, ueluti bulgæ.
Moduli autem aqua­
rij æque ac uaſa, in quæ res aridæ ingeruntur, duplices ſunt, minores & ma­
iores: ſed hi moduli diſtant à uaſis ſumma parte, quam habent anguſtiorem:
& quidem iccirco ne, cùm ex puteis, maximè multum deuexis, trahuntur &
illiduntur aſſeribus, aquæ effundantur.
In hos modulos aquas ſitulis infun­
dunt, quæ ſunt lignea uaſcula, non ut moduli in ſummo anguſta, neque uin­
cta circulis ferreis, ſed colurnis, quod neutrum neceſsitas flagitet: atque
hic etiam moduli minores extrahuntur ea machina, quam
uerſant homines: maiores ea quam equi
circumagunt.
