1tres, altum cubitum, ex ſaxis uel lateribus factum, ſaxis tantum tectum: quod
ni eſſet atque ita ſe haberet, uis ignium humorem ex terra eliceret, tam ad focum
cuiuſque ſornacis quàm ad catinum, eosque madidos inflaret: inflati uitium fa­
cerent, & metallum partim abſorberent, partim miſceretur cum recremen­
tis: quo modo conflatura magnum damnum contraheret: ex unoquoque præ­
terea humoris receptaculo canalis ſtructilis æquè ac ipſum altus, ſed latus
digitos ſex, per murum, ad quem eſt fornax extructa, ad alterum eius latus,
ſiue prius ſiue poſterius penetret & aſcendat, qua patens halitum, in quem
humor eſt conuerſus, expiret de tubo uel fiſtula ænea aut ferrea: quæ ratio
receptaculi conficiendi canalisque, longe optima eſt: alijs quidem eſt canalis
priori ſimilis: humoris uerò receptaculum diſſimile: nam tranſuerſum ſub ca
tino non latet, ſed rectum, atque longum eſt pedes duos & palmum: latum
pedem & palmos tres, altum pedem & palmum: quæ ratio receptaculi con
ficiendi ſic à nobis non improbatur, ut eorum qui receptaculum uacans ca­
nali ſtruunt: hoc uerò iccirco improbatur, quod ab ipſo foramen non pate
at ad aerem, per quod halitus ſolutè & liberè penetrent.
