Sextæ machinæ item duo ſunt axes: inferior altera parte habet rotam, quæ
à duobus calcantibus uerſatur, altam pedes tres & uiginti, latam quatuor,
ut alter iuxta alterum ſtare poſſit: altera tympanum dentatum.
Inferiori ue­
rò ſunt duo tympana & una rota: alterum tympanum ex fuſis conſtat, in al­
tero infixæ ſunt fibulæ ferreæ.
Rota ſimilis eſt ei, quam habet ſecunda ma­
china, quæ terras & ſaxorum fragmenta potiſsimùm ex puteis extrahit.
Cal­
cantes autem ne cadant manibus prehendunt perticas, ad rotæ latera interi
us affixas: quam cùm uerſant tympanum dentatum ſimul circumactum im­
pellit alterum, quod ex fuſis conſtat, quo modo rurſus annuli catenæ ducta
riæ tertij tympani fibulis inhærentes aquas pilis per fiſtulas hauriunt altitu
dine pedum ſex & ſexaginta.
