Alterum machinarum ſpiritalium genus ex flabellis conſtat, itemque uari­
um & multiplex eſt: nam flabella uel in ſucula includuntur, uel in axe.
Si in
ſucula, ea aut cauum tympanum, ex duabus rotis & pluribus tabulis inter ſe
coagmentatis compoſitum, in ſe continet, aut quadrangulum loculamen­
tum.
Sed tympanum immobile, atque à lateribus clauſum ibidem rotunda tan­
tummodo habet foramina: & quidem tanta, ut ſucula in eis uerſari poſsit: ſed
habet præterea duo ſpiritalia foramina quadrangula: quorum ſuperius con
cipit auram: inferius canalis longus excipit, quo eadem in puteum induci­
tur.
Suculæ autem capita utrinque ex tympano eminentia chelæ ſtipitum, uel
tignorum caua craſſis laminis ferrata ſuſtinent: quorum alterum habet ue­
ctem, in altero quatuor infixæ ſunt perticæ, quibus capita craſſa & grauia
ſunt, ut eorum pondere ſucula cùm circumagitur depreſſa ad motum proni
or fiat: itaque cùm operarius uecte uerſat ſuculam, flabella, quæ qualia ſint pau­
lò poſt dicam, foramine ſpiritali auram haurientes in alterum foramen, quod
excipit canalis longus, impellunt: quæ per eum penetrat in puteum.
