Itali, qui ſe auri colligendi gratia ad Germaniæ montes conferunt, riuo­
rum arenas, cum auri ramentis & carbunculis, maxime Carchedonijs miſtas,
lauant in longiuſculo & humili lacu, ex una arbore cauato, intrinſecus & ex
trinſecus rotundato, ex altera parte patente, ex altera clauſo: quem ſic in riui
alueo infodiunt, ut aqua in eum non incidat, ſed leuiter influat: arenam in i­
pſum coniectam agitant rutro ligneo item rotundato: ne uerò ramenta uel
carbunculi ſimul cum leui arena effluant, eius apertam partem tabella ſimili
ter rotundata, ſed humiliore, quàm lacus cauum eſt, occludunt.
Auri autem
ramenta uel carbunculos, qui unà cum pauca arena graui in lacu reſederunt,
in alueo lauant, & in utres colligunt, ac ſecum aſportant.
