Pila autem efficiuntur ex tigillis nouem pedes longis, quadrangulis, un­
diquaque latis ſemipedem: cuiusque caput ferreum ita ſe habet.
Inferior eius
pars longa eſt tres palmos, ſuperior totidem: inferioris partis media pars lata et
craſſa eſt palmum, longa duos palmos: infima extuberat ut fiat lata quinque di­
gitos, craſſa totidem, longa duos: ſuprema etiam ipſa extuberat: fitque lata et craſ­
ſa ſeſquipalmum, longa duos digitos: ſuperius ubi includitur in pilo perfora­
ta: ſimili modo pilum ipſum terebratum eſt: atque per utriuſque foramen penetrat
cuncus ferreus latus: qui continet caput ne de pilo decidat.

uenarum fragmenta uel ſaxa tundens non frangatur inter ipſum & ſupremam
partis inferioris partem ponitur lamina ex ferro quadrangula, craſſa digitum, la
ta digitos ſeptem, alta ſex.
Qui uerò tria pila faciunt, ut plerique faciunt, ea multo
maiora faciunt: etenim cum quadrangula exiſtant, undique lata ſunt tres pal­
mos: cuiuſque autem caput ferreum ita ſe habet: totum longum eſt pedes du­
os & palmum: inferius ſexangulum: ubi latum & craſſum exiſtit digitos ſe­
ptem.
Inferior eius pars, quæ ex pilo extat, longa eſt pedem & palmos duos:
ſuperior, quæ in eo includitur, palmos tres: inferiore eius parte lata & craſſa
palmum.
Deinde paulatim fit anguſtior & tenuior, ut ſuperiore parte mane­
at lata digitos tres & dimidium, craſſa duos: ubi anguli quodam modo reci
ſi ſunt: eaque parte perforatum eſt.
