Verùm area linteis extenſis contexta ſic ſe habet. Tigna duo, longa pedes
decem & octo, lata ſemipedem, craſſa tres palmos decliuia collocantur: quo­
rum pars prona dimidia eſt exciſa, ut aſſerum capita in ea poni poſſint: etenim
aſſeribus longis pedes tres & tranſuerſis, continenterque poſitis teguntur: di
midia eſt integra & altior quàm aſſeres palmum, ut aqua delapſa non effluat
ex lateribus, ſed rectà defluat: quinetiam areæ caput altius reliquo corpore de
uexum eſt, ut aqua delabi poſſit: ipſa area tota ſex linteis extenſis & radio æ­
quatis contegitur: quorum primum tenet infimum locum, in quo ſecundum ſic colloca
tur, ut ipſum paululum tegat: in ſecundo ſimiliter tertium locatur, et deinceps alia
in alijs: ſi. n. contrario modo collocata fuerint, aqua defluens metallorum ramen
ta, uel lapillos nigros rapit ſub ipſa, & labor inutilis ſuſcipitur: linteis ita ex­
tenſis
adoleſcentes uel uiri metallorum ramenta uel lapillos nigros cum limo mi­
ſtos conijciunt in canalis caput, canaliculoque recluſo aquam in id ipſum immit­
tunt
: tum rutris ligneis agitant metallorum ramenta, uel lapillos, uſque dum aqua­
rum
uis omnes inferat in lintea: deinde ijſdem rutris ligneis leniter uerrunt lintea, do
nec limus in lacum uel in canalem tranſuerſum defluat.
Quàm primum aut
nullus aut paucus in linteis inſederit, ſed tantummodo metallorum ramen­
ta, uel lapilli nigri, tunc ea auferunt, lauantque in uaſe propè poſito, in quod in­
cidunt: redeuntque ſubinde ad eundem laborem.
