tres & totidem digitos craſſum: quo pro manubrio lotor utitur: rutellum aut fa
ctum eſt ex pertica longa pedes tres: cui præfixa eſt tabella longa pedem, lata di
gitos ſex, craſſa ſeſquidigitum: lotor altera manu aſſidue mouet manubrium hu
iusinſtrumenti, atque ſic rutellum in canalis capite agitat metallorum ramenta uel la
pillos nigros cum limo permiſtos, qui commoti defluunt in canalem: altera tenet
alterum rutellum, cui manubrium dimidio breuius eſt: eo ramenta uel lapillos, qui
in ſuprema canalis parte reſederunt, continenter agitat: quo modo limus cum aquis
miſtus defluit in canalem tranſuerſum: et ex eo in lacum, qui extra domicilium eſt.
