[Commentary:
Sums of some infinite progressions.
The first example 11+22+34+48+516+...=4. From the similar examples shown on Add MS 6789 f. , we may assume that Harriot summed this as follows:
11+12+14+18+...=2,
12+14+18+...=1,
14+18+...=12,
.... The sums of these series form a geometric progression 2+1+12+14+...=4.
The second example is similar to the first.
The third example 11+33+69+1127+2081+...=334. This can be rewritten as the sum of two separate series:
11+23+49+827+1681+.... and 13+29+327+481+.... The first is a geometric progression whose sum is 3.
The second can be summed as in the first example, to give 34.
Thus the total sum is 334.
The fourth example 21+56+1336+35216+.... This can be rewritten as the sum of two separate series:
11+26+436+9216+.... and 11+36+936+27216+.... The first is a geometric progression whose sum is 3.
The second is a geomteric progression whose sum is 2.
Thus the total sum is 5.
