IK. A Pipe and Cock whereby the Boiler is ſup-
plied with warm Water from the Top of the cy-
linder.
L. The Shanck of the Piſton, whoſe lower Part is a
circular Plate, in diameter near equal to the Cylin-
der, and cloſeth thereto with the Leather round the
Edge having always 6 or 8 Inches of water upon it, to
prevent the atmoſphere from getting down, and
when the Steam is let into the cylinder, which takes
of or contrevails the Preſſure on the Piſton, it roſes
with the inner End of the great Leaver b, by a Coun-
treballance an the other End b.

cuum is made, it deſcends by the weight of the atmo-
ſphere, and brings down the End of the Leaver b
