1vel ſcutica, vel funiculo in torto circumagitur, in quo clariſſi
mè apparet motus centri, & orbis:
ratio motus orbis eſt impe
tus impreſſus vtrique extremitati diametri vaſis in partes contra
rias;
ratio verò motus centri eſt, quia adducitur funiculo vel ex
ploditur, ſeu expellitur ſcutica:
huius motus phænomena ſunt ferè
infinita: ſingula ex noſtris principiis facilè explicantur.

De diuerſis impreſſionibus motus.
1. CVm ſuſtinetur manus, ſeu brachium, in ſitu horizontali im
mobile, producitur neceſſariò impetus æqualis impetui gra
uitationis;
alioquin, ſi maior eſſet, ſurſum ferretur brachium; ſi verò
minor, deorſum:
quia præualeret grauitatio, porrò hic impetus pro
ducitur tantùm à potentia motrice animantis, in ſingulari organo;

non verò in aliis partibus, etiam animatis, niſi quando mouentur;

nec in ipſo pondere, ſi aliquod ſuſtinetur: ſic menſa in pondere ſu
per poſito impetum nullum producit.
Si anima immediatè in toto
corpore poſſet producere impetum, homo facilè volare poſſet.
2. Cùm ſuſtinetur funependulum, nullus impetus producitur à
ſuſtinente in ipſo globo, ne ſcilicet, ſit fruſtrà;
ſecùs verò, ſi attolla
tur:
ſic per quamlibet lineam corpus retineri poteſt ſine impetu in
eo corpore producto per ſe:
hinc, cùm duo ſeſe inuicem trahunt ad
uerſo niſu, neuter in altero producit impetum per ſe;
ſed per acci
dens, propter mollitiem, & tenſionem partium:
cùm verò defertur
aliquid coniunctum, producitur haud dubiè æqualis impetus;
hinc
ſeparari non poteſt;
quia æqualis eſt motus latoris, & delati: exem
plum habes in naui.
3. Si verò nauis illicò ſiſtat, vel tardiùs moueri pergat, tunc fit ſe
paratio: hinc liquida effunduntur, ſi dum feruntur, breuior quietis
in vaſe intercedat morula.
Vt feratur cylindrus humeris commodiùs
debet ſuſtineri in centro grauitatis, ad eleuationem anguli 49. quia
tunc manui, & humero æqualiter pondus diſtribuitur:
ideò in circulo
voluitur ſcyphus aqua plenus ſine effuſione; quia impetus determi
natus per tangentem circuli aquam ipſam à centro circuli remouet.
4. Cùm trahitur aliquod corpus impetus impreſſus in vna parte
non producit impetum in alia, alioquin daretur proceſſus in infi
nitum;
ſi chorda vtrinque trahatur, rumpetur in medio: ſi affixa
extremitati immobili, trahatur à potentia applicata alteri extremi-
