The ‘Biblioteca Universitaria’ of the University of Urbino, whose existence dates back to 1506, holds a collection of mixed manuscripts and printed papers attributed to the school of Federico Commandino.
As part of a cooperation between the ‘Biblioteca Universitaria’ of Urbino (and its archive ‘Fondo Antico’), the cultural association ‘Centro Internazionale di Studi Urbino e la Prospettiva’ (Urbino) and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (Berlin), these documents have, for the first time, been digitised by Francesco Serafini, and are now made available online as open-access documents. The current selection includes correspondence, notes, manuscripts, and other materials pertinent to Commandino and to his pupils.
